General Terms and Conditions (AGB)

These terms apply when you submit a booking request for a Stieregg Rentals holiday apartment via our direct booking website.

1. Provider

Stieregg Rentals GmbH, Weidweg 5, 3818 Grindelwald, Switzerland, UID CHE-202.275.796 (“Host”) operates the direct booking website and handles booking requests for the listed accommodations.

2. Nature of a booking request

By submitting a booking request you make a binding offer to rent the selected accommodation for the stated dates, guest count, and quoted price, subject to these terms.

A contract is formed only when the Host expressly accepts your request (for example by confirmation email or acceptance in the Host operations system). Until then, the Host may decline without stating reasons. A tentative calendar hold may be placed while your request is pending. If the Host does not accept or decline within ten (10) calendar days (Europe/Zurich), the request expires automatically, the tentative hold is released, and you are notified.

3. Price and payment

The total shown at request time (including any cleaning fee) is the quoted price in Swiss francs (CHF) unless stated otherwise. Local tourist tax (Kurtaxe) payable on arrival is not included in that total (see section 8).

After Host acceptance, you must pay the full amount within three (3) calendar days (Europe/Zurich) via the Stripe payment link in the confirmation email. If payment is not received in time, the booking is cancelled automatically and the dates are released. A reminder may be sent one day before the deadline.

4. Cancellation by the guest

After acceptance and payment (calendar days until check-in, Europe/Zurich): 60 or more days before check-in: 100% refund. Fewer than 60 but at least 14 days: 50% refund. Fewer than 14 days or no-show: no refund. Local tourist taxes already remitted may be non-refundable. Payment-provider fees are generally not returned. Use the cancel link in your confirmation email or contact the Host in writing.

5. Cancellation by the Host

If the Host cancels after acceptance for any reason (including force majeure or property unavailability), amounts already paid for the stay will be refunded in full to the extent permitted by the payment provider. Further claims are excluded to the extent permitted by Swiss law.

6. House rules and use

Guests must follow house rules communicated before or on arrival (quiet hours, smoking, pets, maximum occupancy, waste, parking). The accommodation may only be used for private holiday purposes. Subletting and parties are not allowed without prior written consent.

7. Liability and damage

Guests are liable for damage caused by them or their companions beyond normal wear and tear. The Host’s liability for slight negligence is excluded to the extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent, gross negligence, or injury to life, body, or health.

8. Tourist tax and registration

A local tourist tax (Kurtaxe / city tax) of CHF 5.20 per person per night is payable on arrival and is not included in the online quoted price. Guests must provide accurate identity details required for Kurtaxe and registration obligations. Incorrect information may lead to additional charges or cancellation.

9. Data protection

Personal data submitted with a booking request is processed to handle the request, form and perform the contract, process payments, and meet legal obligations. See our Privacy Policy. Payment data is processed by Stripe.

10. Applicable law and venue

These terms and any contract formed under them are governed by Swiss substantive law. Exclusive venue is Grindelwald / Canton of Bern, Switzerland, subject to mandatory consumer protections where applicable.

11. Severability

If any provision is invalid, the remaining provisions stay in force. Invalid provisions are replaced by valid ones that best match the original intent.
